How can I access a care box?

You can access a care box of produce by completing the ‘Request Assistance’ page located on…..once your request has been processed you will receive a call or e-mail to ascertain if you are able to collect directly on a designated day or if you require your care box to be delivered to your home.

Can I turn up for a care box?

No, we are unable to process any drop in requests as our program would be inundated and unmanageable. Our care boxes of produce are pre-made ahead of collection schedules for families and seniors assigned to specific days.

What is in a Care Box of produce.

We aim for a balance of produce across our care boxes, generally, boxes consist of staples such as canned beans, milk, butter, cheese, bread, a variety of fruit and vegetables. An ad hoc variety of non-perishables and of frozen products. All are subject to change according to what is available at the time of collection weekly.

Can I request produce specific to my or my family’s dietary, allergies, and intolerances requirements?

Yes, while our teams do our very best to tailor make each care box of produce, we are unable to grantee care boxes to be at 100% of your requirements.

Can I donate produce?

Yes, we welcome any non-perishables items, home grown fruit or vegetables which can be delivered directly to Olinda Hall on collection days. (Mondays and Wednesdays at 13:00)

Can I donate pre-cooked meals to the program?

Yes, providing the meals are prepared under Health Department guidelines, you hold a food handlers certification, meals are correctly labeled with ingredient contents, preparation dates and stored appropriately.

Can I be a free food program volunteer?

Yes, we are always happy to welcome community members to our program. Volunteers are supplied with a volunteer’s manual and are assigned to work along side mentor volunteers.

Can I donate funds towards the program?

Yes, we welcome any donated funds to help us support our programs. As a registered non-for-profit charity any donation over $5 dollars is tax deductible with a receipt issued upon request.

Are you a Catholic Organization?

No, the Philanthropic Collective are a secular based non funded volunteer hills charity.

Do I need a welfare check to qualify for support?

No, we do not conduct any welfare checks as we work on a need’s basis. Anyone is welcome within the Yarra Ranges to access support by appointment.
