Maurice Ravel - Bolero

One of the most famous tunes of them all. Bolero featured the largest orchestra QPO has yet assembled (nearly 100 players). We're hoping to make the century this year.

Alexander Borodin - On the Steppes of Central Asia

A haunting evocation of a nomadic caravan passing in the high central Asian desert, the nomads chanting Islamic melodies.

Alberto Ginastera - Malambo from "Estancia"

We've played a few Latin American selections in recent years, and this is undoubtedly the most unbridled of them all - a raucous Argentinian party. Great fun.

Leonard Bernstein - The Great Lover from "On the Town"

Bernstein loved dance and mime, and all his musicals featured it prominently; here three US Navy sailors on shore leave in New York live it up in the downtown bars & nightclubs.
